In my opinion basketball is the greatest sport in the world, however it's not just a sport, it's a lifestyle. I have a
tremendous love and respect for basketball, it has been very good to me over the years. It has taught me discipline,
teamwork, respect, sportsmanship, mental toughness, sacrifice, dedication, understanding, patience, trust. I could
keep going but I think you get the picture. Basketball has made my life better in every respect, now I have moved on
from playing to coaching and I want to pass on the lessons, skills, love and respect for the game on to the players of
today.
I was introduced to basketball at the age of fourteen, at first I was horrible, the only reason people would pick me to be
on their team is because I was taller than everyone. I dedicated myself and worked extremely hard to become the best
that I could be. To make a long story short I have had a lot of success as a basketball player, however it's not just the
success that I hang my hat on, it's the lessons that I learned along the way.
As a coach it was a little bit easier in the beginning due to the fact that I had an amazing mentor and coach of my own.
Notwithstanding, I still had to work very hard and I am continuing to work hard to be the very best coach that I can be.
Much like when I was a player, I have had a lot of success in coaching. By success I am not just talking about trophies
and metals, I am talking about what's really important. Every kid that I have coached has become a better basketball
player. I love coaching, it brings me so much joy! When you see your players grow, learn, and improve, that is the
best feeling in the world.
